Who am I?

Hello all,
Just wanted to take a minute or two to introduce myself and say thanks for visiting my newly created blog.

First a quick background of me, I am rapidly approaching the big 40, I grew up in northern California and graduated high school in 1991 (yeah, a little old for college).  I spent 14 years in the U.S. Army as an airborne infantryman.  My military schooling included ranger school, airborne school, jump master school, pathfinder school, drill sergeant school, and EMT school.

The army is what brought me to Columbus Georgia which is where I met my wonderful wife.  Upon leaving the army it was an easy decision to stay here in Columbus.  I have an amazing 6 year old daughter who is the light of mine and my wives lives.

I am currently a sophomore but will be moving into my junior year at the end of this semester.  I am a health and physical education major.

In addition to attending CSU I am also a job superintendent of a hard scape company located here in Columbus.

What I hope to take away from this class is how IT will help me to make my future classroom more conducive to learning.  The rate of technology increase right now is staggering and I can only imagine what amazing teaching tools will be available in the near future.

In addition to school and work my wife and I are avid volleyball players.  My wife played at the college of Charleston and I played club ball at Chico State in northern California.  Our passion has since shifted to the sand game which we play regularly on our backyard sand court.  We play in numerous tournaments all over the South East.  We have also coached at a local private school for 3 years.  If there are any questions regarding this wonderful sport feel free to ask and I will get back to you.

I hope this sheds some light on who I am and what my goals are for the near term, I hope to update this blog as my life and education continue, stay tuned.......
